Mini LED Screen Maintenance Costs: A Realistic Evaluation

While Mini LED technology stands out with high image quality and slim cabinet design in outdoor LED screens, maintenance costs remain one of the biggest concerns for investors. Because it uses smaller LED chips than traditional SMD, fault detection and repair processes can be slightly more complex.

However, when we look at real figures, the maintenance cost of a quality Mini LED screen in the first 3-4 years remains quite low when properly installed and regularly maintained. In the projects we have carried out at Pointpx LED, we have seen that annual maintenance cost is around 2-4% of the total investment amount. This rate may vary depending on the location (seaside, high wind areas, etc.) and the maintenance contract.

In the long term, Mini LED’s lower failure rate and longer lifespan make the total cost of ownership (TCO) more advantageous compared to classic SMD screens. Especially for projects of 5 years and above, Mini LED becomes a more logical choice both in terms of image quality and maintenance costs.
